A Friendship Mandala: Like a bracelet, but better!

Friendship Mandala

Friendship Mandala: "A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow" - William Shakespeare
Mandala with Intention
By Mara Carlini. Original 20 x 20 inch Purchase Painting

Who inspired this painting?

I wanted to honor my friends & family with this mandala. I feel less alone in the world knowing that they are here for me and supporting my ideas.

We all feel less alone when we are supported by our friends - our real friends - the ones who really truly accept us for who we are, past, present, and future. Authentic friends bring out our own authenticity. It's important to really take a moment to be grateful for these authentic friends in our life.

So this was me, making a 24x24 inch mandala, taking long long moments to be grateful for my friends!

Color & Shape Meanings

Friendship Mandala Detail Lotus

Pink and Purple Lotus Center:

I wanted a lotus in the middle, remembering that a beautiful lotus grows from murky waters. In friendships, things aren't always easy and lovely, but putting the effort in does make it grow and soon become a beautiful lotus. Pink and purple are mostly for my female friends and family members..though i do include everyone in this!

Small White Lotuses on circle:

These little guys in the circle around the inner purple lotus are an extension from the meaning above, but they are Pure white, indicating purity, loyalty and authenticity in friendships.

Bright Colors Mandala All Around!

I started this mandala with the purple lotus, and originally wanted to do more earthy greens and subtle colors...BUT

Friendship Quote

Friends bring out the LIGHT and BRIGHT in us! I found the corals and sunset colors to be more pleasing and reflective of how my friends make me feel. Still warm and cozy, but as bright as the sun!
